"Here We Are on Top of the Stars, Never Thought We'd Ever Get This far" - The Afters

Hey everyone!

So this was a busy week but unfortunately we weren't able to find anyone new to teach but we had some awesome moments this week!

Monday was pretty good, we just did the normal basketball and emailing stuff! We had dinner and family home evening with the stake patriarch and his wife along with a semi-less active family. I ended up doing the Rubik's Cube Restoration and that went pretty well! We got to the church in time for the end of the YSA FHE and we got to play badminton without the net. That was all fun and games until I got a random bloody nose! So I spent the rest of the night with a tissue up my nose!

Tuesday we spent the whole day pretty much at MLC in Eugene! It was pretty good and it was good to see all my old friends again! We grabbed dinner in Veneta before coming home. We had to take something to the Florence Elders so we met them in Reedsport and dropped it off to them. By the time we got back, we were away from North Bend for 14 hours.

Wednesday we spent the morning doing ZTM planning with the Sisters. We didn't have too much happen except our lesson with one of our new investigators Jake. He is so cool! At the beginning of our lesson, he was kinda stand offish but by the end the spirit was changing him and he accepted the invitation to be baptized on April 9th! We are super stoked and we hope he can make that date.

Thursday we volunteered at the senior center before doing our weekly planning and working on ZTM stuff. I got another bloody nose during it so that sucked. We had correlation in the evening before we got the relief society room set up for ZTM.

Friday we had ZTM and it went really well. I had to do the last half because Elder Roller and Elder Carter had to go do an emergency blessing. We had a zone lunch that was pretty awesome before we went and spent the whole day contacting people.

Saturday we taught our new investigator Sue about keeping the Sabbath day holy and we introduced the Restoration to her. She was so happy when we gave her a large print Book of Mormon and a large print Bible. She also accepted an invitation to come to church so that was pretty awesome!

Sunday was a rough day at church. Sue had panic attacks all during church so we are currently trying to come up with solutions to help her. We had a lesson with Patrick after church and we talked about his whole situation and about moving his date up. He is looking to come to church on the 20th so we are pretty hopeful for that. We had a lesson with Crystal and Wade came with us and we gave Crystal a blessing of comfort to help her with her stress. We synced at the church to end the night.

I love all of y'all and I love my Savior Jesus Christ! I know that He lives! #Hallelujah!

The One where We start teaching Wade and Pearl!

Hey everyone!

So this was a pretty good week for us!

Tuesday morning we were up at 5:30 and out the door by 6:10 to go to Eugene for MLC. President Cropper took us, the Central Point zone leaders, and the Grants Pass zone leaders up to Eugene. We had some awesome gospel conversations on the way up! MLC was pretty good and I learned a lot about being a real missionary and stuff like that. After MLC, we went to the mission office and the mission home before heading back up north. That was the first time that I have been to the mission home! We stopped to eat at a super good restaurant and OYM'd a couple at a nearby table. We found out through our conversation that they knew President Cropper's son! By the time that we got done with MLC and dinner and all that fun stuff, we were back in Medford around 9:00 pm!

Elder Kunz and I were the only ones awake!
Wednesday morning we went and helped a family in the ward move out. It was pretty dang quick haha! It took 30 minutes to accomplish it all. We met up with the sisters to plan out ZTM and get an outline for it prepared. We picked up Brother Roberts and met up with Sister Mos***. It went really well! We decided to skip over the last part of the Restoration and go over the Plan of Salvation. It was something that she needed to hear. We then had a lesson with Tammy and we finally found out the reason she isn't progressing like she should've. We now know what we can do to help her! We received some money for dinner and since it was Elder Tatio's birthday, we went and ate Thai food! It was pretty good. We then planned for our segment of ZTM to end the night.

Thursday morning we spent our morning doing weekly planning and messaging people on Facebook. We then went to the Family History Center and made a program for ZTM. After we printed it all out we went over to the McHat***'s for dinner and a lesson. Andrew had to leave before we could share the message but we were able to adjust it to the McHat***'s needs. We had a lesson scheduled with Bobby but he failed to show up at the church so we talked to Brother Edwa*** for a couple of minutes before going out and OYMing a couple of people. To end the night, we had correlation at the church.

Friday we had ZTM and it went pretty well. We were at the stake center at 7:30 for new missionary training and then we had ZTM. We had some good segments and then there was one where it was kinda sketchy and I don't think anyone knew what they were supposed to be teaching about... but we made it work. We had lunch with a member from Grants Pass who knows Elder Taito. We had Red Robin and man it was super good! Afterwards, we had a lesson with Cameron and at the very beginning of the lesson he told us that he was not only getting the Aaronic priesthood on Sunday but his temple recommend AND his patriarchal blessing recommend as well! He is such a stud! Afterwards, we drove to Grants Pass and picked up the new missionaries iPad's from the Grants Pass zone leaders. We had dinner before setting up a lesson with Sally and seeing Sister McAllister. We delivered the iPads to end the night.

Saturday was long! We messaged a kid that we were trying to teach and he told us that his mom didn't want us to come by ever again... it stinks because his mom is the reason we got in contact with him! We organized our area book until lunch and afterwards picked up Kellin at the church for a couple of lessons we had. We taught the Johnston's about prayer and then we taught Brother Griffe*** about where we go after we die. We then visited with a less active's non-member dad and invited him to the Linger Longer we were going to have after church on Sunday. We had dinner with the Heath's before heading over to the stake center for a baptism that the 8th ward was having. To wrap up our night, we taught the Poncer***'s about the Plan of Salvation.

Sunday was super good. We left church to give a blessing to Wade and Pearl's baby in the NICU. It reminded me of what must've happened when my cousins Luke and Ian were born prematurely, just like Wade and Pearl's baby. We gave the blessing and then came back to help ordain Cameron to the Aaronic Priesthood! It was pretty sweet. We then taught a couple of less actives to end our day.

I love y'all! Have a good week!

OEM Post - August MLC

Elder Tonini cannot be bothered with little things like a camera. However, Elder Strech, gives the thumbs up, and Elder Perrine and Elder Rigby can't resist another smile for the blog (I think maybe Elder Rigby knows now that he doesn't have a sandwich in his hand).

#LDSConf

Hey everyone!

So this was a bit of a slower week for us.

Monday after P-Day was over, we had dinner with the Cro*** and we shared the "Because He lives" video with them. After that, we tried to contact some people but nothing much came from it.

Tuesday we had temple service in the morning. We walked over to the church with the 1st Ward Elders and we worked on digging holes and moving some bushes around. We had to go through a ton of weed block and it was a pain in the rear! We came back to the apartment and changed before walking to our appointment with Don. On the way to his home, a member from the 1st Ward saw us and picked us up! Unfortunately he drove away before we knocked on the door and discovered he was not home! We walked back to the apartment and took lunch. We walked over to Central Point East and met with Mike. Due to a mix up, he wasn't able to come to church this last Sunday so he was pretty bummed about that. We read some chapters out of 1st Nephi with him and it was a good visit. We then tried to contact a couple of the members over in that area that I didn't know before having dinner. When we finished up there, we headed off to go back to our neck of the woods to contact a few people but no one was around.

Wednesday morning we did weekly planning because I was not going to be around on the day we normal did weekly planning. When we finished up with that, we rearranged our apartment for our lunch. One of the members called us and asked us if we could help him with his food run and we said yes. He even took us to McDonald's for lunch haha! We helped him out with that and then helped out the Gold Hill Elders with getting their truck into the shop. When we were done with that, we went to our ward's silent auction for Girl's camp and Scout Camp. Elder Seymour walked away with a board for a skateboard and I got a BYU blanket from a member as well as a back massager haha! It was super fun! We then helped the Sister missionaries get the couch a member got them into their apartment with the help of Brother Thur***.

Thursday I was up at 5:15 to get ready for my first ever missionary leadership council. I went up with the zone leaders and the Medford 3rd Ward Elders and I slept almost the whole way there haha! It was so awesome seeing all of my former companions! We were instructed from some of the people in the Missionary Department about finding and asking for referrals. We didn't get home until about 8ish and then I had ward correlation to end the night.

Friday morning I had district meeting. We talked about our study habits that could be improved and then did some activities, such as biscuits and gravy!:) It was so good! After district meeting, the Sisters did an Easter egg hunt and then did the activity where we had the eggs with different items in it that represented Jesus Christ's last week. It was awesome, considering we did it in front of the temple! After that we and the Gold Hill Elders did some service for one of the Gold Hill members. Elder Porter and I painted, move a washer, and worked on a dam haha! It was a ton of fun! We even had chimichangas! We then saw the Froel*** and got Elder Porters finger fixed up! He dropped a trailer on it a day or so ago and it was swelling bad so Sister Froel*** fixed it up for him!

Saturday was General Conference! I stayed in Gold Hill and watched it with one of Gold Hill's members. We hung out and had lunch before the afternoon session with the Ward Mission Leader (WML) in the Gold Hill ward. The WML was one of the contractors to build some of the temples out here! It was super cool seeing the pictures and stuff! After the afternoon session, we came back into Central Point and went to the Priesthood session. We got pizza with the ward and then I got Sonic to keep up with tradition! It was great!

Sunday was filled with conference. We watched it at the church and then passed out at the Stam***! We then contacted a couple of people and shared an Easter message with Joe and a family history message with Adam. That is pretty much how Sunday went!

That's all I got! I'm grateful for this wonderful conference we just had! I know this church is true! There is no doubt!

Love y'all!
